Red Panda Treetops Jigsaw Puzzle

Red Panda Treetops at every size

Par is the time your score is measured against at that size. The rest is measured from the picture itself: how many pieces have a near-twin by colour once it is cut.

What the picture shows

A red panda lies along a thick branch that runs from the left edge down to the bottom right, its chin resting on the wood and its eyes looking down past you. Its face is white with rust-red patches, its ears are edged in white, and its legs and belly are near black. The long tail, ringed in rust and dark brown, hangs along the branch toward the bottom right. The branch is covered in green moss and grey lichen. Wet bamboo leaves hang across the top right and the right edge, and dark green rhododendron leaves with pointed buds fill the bottom left and the bottom middle.

Solving Red Panda Treetops

At 50 pieces about 7 pieces in 10 already have a near-twin, because the moss, the bamboo and the blurred background are all shades of green. The panda itself is easy at any size: white face, rust fur and black legs each look different. As the cut gets finer, the moss is the slow part, its texture the same along the whole branch. Fewer than 1 piece in 10 is plain, even at 1000 pieces.

Start with the face, then the ears and the dark front paws gripping the branch. Follow the body down to the ringed tail at the bottom right. Build the mossy branch next, from the left edge down. Place the rhododendron buds and leaves along the bottom, then the bamboo on the right. The blurred background goes in last.

Red Panda Treetops sits in the middle of the animal set. It is harder than the kitten at 50 and 1000 pieces and a little easier at 100, 200 and 500. At every size it stays below Fox in the Snow and Lion Pride.
