What is stored

If you sign in with Google

Signing in is optional, and everything on this site works without it. If you do, Google tells us three things about the account you chose: its permanent account number, its email address, and the first name on it. We store the account number and the address so that signing in again — here or on another device — reaches the same collection, streak and ladder position rather than starting a new one. The first name is used only to fill in your display name if you have not chosen one.

We never receive your Google password, and we ask Google for nothing else: not your contacts, your calendar, your files, or anything about how you use other Google services.

What is not

Analytics

This site counts visits with Google Analytics, which sets cookies in your browser and sends Google the pages you open, roughly where you are, and what kind of device you use. In the EU, the UK, Switzerland and Canada it is asked for, not assumed: nothing is loaded until you agree. Everywhere else it is on unless you turn it off here. Either way, turning it off costs you nothing on the site, and you can change your mind at any time.

Removing it

Clearing this site's data in your browser removes the identifier, and with it your access to the account it names. To have the server's copy deleted as well, email [email protected].
