What the picture shows

Rows of lavender run diagonally across the lower two thirds, from the bottom left toward the top right, with pale stony soil between them. Solving Lavender Field

At 50 pieces about 6 pieces in 10 have a near-twin, and at 100 about 7, because the rows are the same purple from front to back. Nothing in the field is plain at those sizes. Cut finer, the far rows turn into a soft purple texture and the hazy hills into one pale tone, and by 1000 pieces about 9 pieces in 10 have a near-twin. The van, the farmhouse and the church tower stay easy at every size.

Start at the top right with the farmhouse, the plane trees and the white van. Build the village and its church tower on the hill at the top left, then the misty valleys and the sky. Lay the stubble strip down the right edge. Then the lavender: follow each row from the bottom edge up toward the farmhouse, matching the width of the rows as they narrow.

Lavender Field is one of the harder flower pictures. At 50 pieces only Cherry Blossom Path has more look-alikes, and at 1000 pieces it has the most in the set.
