Many houses share one ochre or one pink, so line pieces up by the rows of green shutters, which run level across each wall.
Nearly every piece has a near-twin at this size. Most pieces carry some texture.

What the picture shows
A fishing village climbs a steep slope above the harbour, seen from the rocks at the water's edge. Tall houses in ochre, salmon pink, terracotta and sage green, nearly all with green shutters, stack up from the centre to the right edge. Washing hangs from the balconies, and a stone church with a round window and a domed bell tower rises at the top centre. A grey rock cliff drops into the sea on the left. In the middle, small wooden boats in blue, white and red are pulled up on a slipway. Big boulders fill the lower right, blue-green water the lower left, and a terraced hillside and hazy sky close the top.
Solving Hillside Village
At 50 pieces about 5 pieces in 10 have a near-twin, because many houses share the same ochre or pink and the same green shutters. It rises to about 7 in 10 at 100 and more than 9 in 10 from 500 up. Plain pieces stay rare, about 1 in 10 even at 1000. The church tower, the boats and the washing stay easy at every size.
Start with the boats on the slipway and the steps below them, then the church and its tower. Build the houses from the slipway upward, one wall colour at a time, lining up the rows of shutters. The cliff on the left comes next, then the boulders. Fill the water, and finish with the hillside and the sky.
Hillside Village sits in the middle of the castles and towns set at 50 pieces, and from 100 pieces up it is the second hardest of the six, behind Hilltop Castle. At 100 the two are two points apart, at about 7 pieces in 10 with a near-twin, while Old Town Square, the easiest, has about 5.
